1D30, the Nottingham – Llandudno and its return 1D17 are amongst the
most famous of Class 25 hauled passenger trains in the 70s and early 80s.
The train was booked a single loco and quite frequently reengined at Derby
on either the outward, return leg or perhaps both. Unfortunately
that was seldom recorded as frustrated bashers would turn away in disgust
when their prize engine failed to run round at Derby and often the substitute
loco for the first/last sixteen miles went unrecorded. This train ceased to be Class 25 hauled
after 1981 and details
of the locos that worked this train from that date onwards can be found on
the Timewarp website.
