Rail Express 1Z45 Pickering - Battersby "The Rat Resurection " railtour

'The Rat Resurection' was billed as the first railtour since their withdrawal to feature a class 25 locomotive on the main line, in this case between Whitby and Battersby. D7628 (25278) worked the train throughout from Pickering to Whitby, then onto Battersby before finally returning to Pickering.

(L) D7628 on the first leg of the railtour waits at Grosmont before moving off the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and on towards Whitby.

(C) D7628 crosses the River Esk at Ruswarp on its way toward Whitby.

(R) On arrival at Whitby the train is reversed out of the station into the sidings to allow the loco to run round.

D7628 runs round the train at Battersby and prepares to work the last leg of the tour back to Pickering.
