Class 25 locomotives 25320 and 25298 wait to leave Shrewsbury with the 07.44hrs departure.  The train is subsequently delayed at Welshpool waiting for an incoming service because of severe delays caused by track repairs.

The late running train is terminated at Machynlleth and the locos ran round the train to head what will become the 10.45 Machynlleth - Euston (rather than 10.10 Aberystwyth) with 25298 as the leading engine.
