From the July 1979/January 1980 - Passenger Trains pictures

25040 (front) and 25147 arrive with the train from Barmouth.  On arrival at Machynlleth 25040 was declared a failure and was removed from the train. 25147 alone took the load 11 train up Talerddig and cleared the summit at 8 mph.
