From the May/September 1982 - Aberystwyth trains pictures.

25141 (front) and 25062 take over the Sunday Birmingham - Aberystwyth service on its first day of operation that season.

In previous years this train would have been class 25 locos throughout (or class 24 if you go back further) but in 1982 it became a class 47 as far as Shrewsbury (on this day being 47355).  I let the Rats go in favour of a North Wales bash that unexpectedly netted me a couple of new class 40s for haulage.
